Hi All,

Many thanks to sajonf for providing the instructions. I just provided some additional information as to what to expect during the process.

Remote starting the car w/o using the Enform Remote App.

Press the Lock button 3 times, and on the third time hold until the parking lights begin to flash, release the lock button.

The vehicle will start within a few seconds.

Pressing the Unlock button or opening the door will shut off the car.

Try it and see how far away you can be to remote start the car with the key Fob and report back.

Enjoy,
Peter

Starting the car from the app is not "stupid," it's a great feature due to the fact that you don't have to be in the immediate proximity of the car to start it up. For example: start up the car from your table when the check arrives, or fire up the engine from baggage claim - and a warmed up (or cooled down) interior is ready by the time you arrive at the car. Starting the car from the fob might be handy when the car is parked in the driveway, but that's about it. This app extends the usefulness of the remote start to make it a large benefit in many more situations.

You are very welcome. I always believe it is good to have options in doing something, and the more options the better. ;)

Speaking of options I just received my Bluetooth enabled ODBII (BAFX)connector to use with the Carista App so I can program my own options, from the list I posted on the options we can do and the dealer has to do.

I like having the ability to change something w/o having to take it to the dealer to get it changed and then charged for it. Yes I know it is free, but only for one time. If you change your mind then you get charged for it.

My wife's 2004 ES330 is programmed to open all the windows and the Moonroof when you press and hold the Open button.

Even our cars will do that, but Lexus has to program it first. :crying: At least they'll do it for free the first time. >:D

That is 100% true.

I finished up changing all the items that the dealer was going to do with Carista, and my Bluetooth enabled ODBII (BAFX)connector. To open up the customization's of Carista you do have to buy the Pro package for $19.99, a one time price, and no yearly renewals. Once you do you have access to everything that the dealer can program. What's better is not only is it good for Lexus, 2007 and up, but other manufactures as well.

Change any option you want as many times as you want to see the differences.

Sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :nerd:

100' won't do it, shame. I was hoping to save the cost of the enform app. However, i really do like the fact that it will notify you if you leave the doors unlocked so I will probably keep it. I'm kinda shocked at how often i do it.

(and it is pretty cool when people when people go what's that? um, I'm locking my car doors because it sent me a notification that they were unlocked :) heh heh :) )

Remember that 100' was in a parking garage and you distance can vary.

I love it when I remote start my car, and people are like WTF. It's even more fun when Security comes up and lets me know that my car started by itself. ;)

It is about time that Lexus Canada smarten up and get the Enform App that you Americans have been enjoying for sometime now. I would love to have all these features.
When? I have heard never so far!
It might have to do with regulations about remote starting a car and leaving it unattended, wasting gas, or creating pollution. Does Canada have anything like that?

To turn the car on using the Fob follow the this procedure:

Press the Lock button 3 times, after each time the parking lights will flash, and on the third time press & hold until the parking lights begin to flash, release the lock button.

The vehicle will start within a few seconds.

Pressing the Unlock button or opening the door will shut off the car.

To get the windows to roll down with the Key fob that is a dealer only programming, or you can use an APP called Carista and a Bluetooth enabled ODBII connector and program it yourself like I did. This is the link to the Customization Checklist that Lexus uses. At the bottom of the page is a link to Carista.
