You've seen pictures of it and now here's the official introduction video of it. Expect to see a full informational video on it in the not too distant future.

This video is a lot of show and special effects, but it doesn't really show you how the system works. I want to know how it works, not just that it is a touch pad. They could have done much better with this advertisement. It really seems pretty empty and ineffectual IMO.

It's okay for now, something to build hype around it as no other car has a touch pad. Give it some time, im sure they will release a walk through video on it.

Only one way to tell, get in the cabin and test it for ourselves, which won't happen for a while. For now, we'll have to depend on some reviewer to get their hands on some pre-production RC.

Eventually I think everything will be touch screens. Some gauges might be old fashioned, analog if you will, but almost everything else will be screens. The benefit being that you can change what is displayed on each screen and have a lot more customization. Hopefully Lexus can get this right. It seems like one of those things that will either be great, or the slightest problem will have an endless stream of complaints.

In time, still going to be a while, maybe another decade before we start seeing it everywhere. seems like Lexus is quick to expand on new tech in it's vehicles.

More steps towards removing buttons on cars. One day there will be no buttons on the car at all

You will just think it and it'll do it for you.

What would the hand motion controls actually control? Just music volume and next song, or stuff that actually has to do with piloting the car?

Is Lexus on the forefront of this, or is another car maker further ahead in development?
