News comes from Lexus Japan that the RC and RC-F have torn through near 2 years of inventory forecasts in just one month...

n just one month, Lexus Japan has received 900 orders for the new RC F coupe, or roughly 30 times the estimated monthly sales goal of 30 units. In short, over two years of RC F inventory have been sold in 30 days.

The same holds true for the RC 350 & RC 300h — there have been 1,700 total orders since October 23rd, a total that exceeds the sales goal of 80 units per month by 2,125%.

As an RC350 F Sport owner I say heeeeeeellllllllzzzz yea! Glad it is doing well because I knew I would love it but have to admit I was nervous signing on the dotted line not knowing if the public would love it …. aka my brand new wheels depreciating to zilch overnight but I still had payments to make

it competes with the bmw 4 series and the audi A/S 5. I can tell you as someone who is very interested in the A/S 5, the rc looks like a very good buy but not at msrp or anywhere close. good thing I dont have to pull the trigger until 11/15 when my current infiniti lease ends. just saw an rc f-sport and regular 350 both awd on a dealer lot today and its a lot better looking in person than in video or pictures. looks **** near perfect packaging wise. much more likely to get the options I want with an rc than the audi. its going to come down to the driving.

Residual value makes sense. That is a pretty big thing too. It may also mean that it is easier to order parts in since they will make more of them in the first place.
Indeed, however because makers are moving to modular operations parts availability is not as urgent an issue as it once was.

The RC's front clip is from a GS, the middle is from an IS C and the rear is from an IS. The 2GR-FSE in the RC350 can be found through out Toyota's world market portfolio, similarly the UR family V8 in the RC-F sees similar uses, although not in that exact configuration.
