There are a couple new renders floating around of the RC-F with its roof chopped off...

I don't know if an RC-F convertible makes sense. For RC350 definitely, even the Chief Engineer agrees....

“The main purpose of [the RC] is to create an aggressive image for the Lexus brand. A hard top coupe is suitable for that purpose compared with a convertible, because a convertible is for older people.”

Every other lexus coupe had a hardtop convertible, to me it seems like they'll do this with the RC-F.
i dont think they should do an RC-F cabrio. The take rate will be so low... How many M3 cabrios do you see running around? VERY FEW...
I think they will do it either way, even if it has to be a custom order that takes longer than hardtop coupes to get to the customer just to rival the M4 cab.
A soft top would really take away from the aggressive look of the RC350. I think a hard top is the only way to go. I'm not even sure that I imagine this car as a convertible. I think that the roof suits it well.

it's not just about that but the structure, it needs to be rigid and a hard top helps

It was designed to be a hard top. they engineerd braces underneath the shell so that there will be no additional work needed to debut a hard top cabrio.

“We are preparing so if we decide to provide the convertible model from this it is possible from the engineering perspective, but there is no actual plan for a convertible.

“We need a little adjustment for mass production”
just what i thought.
always had a feeling they wouldn't go soft top, it's not what Lexus does, never did.
Could care less about the convertible

More parts to fail. I'll take my roof and lower road noise thanks.
