Question for RC350 Owners - I got my RC350 F Sport two weeks ago and can't figure something out and neither can the dealership dudes. Hoping someone here can help …

When I start my car, the computer always defaults to the navigation screen vs. the home screen. It's no big deal just irritating that I have to hit the home button every time I get in the car. You would think it is changeable setting but I have pushed every button and option on the thing and can't figure out a way to change it to default to the home screen when started. I'm thinking it is a hardwired setting but figured it was worth putting out there to the masses.

Thanks!!!

Well how bizarre! Mine always defaults to the nag screen so I'm on auto pilot now to just hit the home button so I can see what I want (I set my home as the radio, temp settings and fuel consumption).

Hope you are enjoying your new ride! I learn something new about mine practically every day. Give me about a year and I should have all the buttons and beeps figured out :D

There sure is a lot to learn. Are you actively going through the owners manual or is it just collecting dust like what many of us let them do? :D

Well …. truth be told there may be a LITTLE dust involved (wink)

I'm more of a learn as ya go kinda girl - manuals aren't usually my thing but I may hafta change my ways a little. I know for fact I didn't put all the "coolness" options to good use in my previous cars

I almost always learn as I go, keeping the manual in my glove box for when i need it.

A PDF version would be great to have so i can keep it on my phone as my phone is always with me.

That is the fattest manual I think I've ever had. The manual for the car, and the manual for the Nav fills up my entire glove box.

I hear you about the manual being huge. Mine is still in the Lexus baggie in a closet somewhere. I keep the quick guide in the car but that's it. I am going to the dealership tomorrow for a wash and to ask even more questions about buttons and settings. While I am there I am going to give them Soarer's suggestion of a PDF version for a smartphone. They should have thought of that by now lol. I have heard that if a salesman makes a suggestion for a car tweak that gets put through to fruition there is a bonus involved for the sales dude. The PDF suggestion wouldn't count but I'll have my guy put it in along with my suggestion of a longer steering column.

Not one of the Lexus Personalized Settings

There are 39 settings programmable by the customer, or be the dealer, but that nav system start up screen is not one of them.

Hi all. I'm new here. I'm in Australia and I don't quite have my RC350 yet but I'm getting VERY close to ordering one. In the meantime, I've been reading through the PDF versions of the owner's manual and I thought you might be interested in the link:

Welcome to the forum, have you actually owned a Toyota Supra before or just a fan of it?

At least now I know I'm not nuts and just missing something. I fiddled with that on and off for hours trying to find a way to program it to start on a different screen when I fire her up. Thanks for the info!

There is a separate user manual for the Navigation System, but I cannot find a working online link to it. Perhaps the info can be found there. Will keep an eye out for it.

I'll also keep an eye out for it, if i see it i'll post it up here.
Might be worth it to check with the dealer, I bet even some of the car jockeys at the dealer might know a bit about it

Hey there OLT! I did have a couple of conversations with my sales dude who is over the top knowledgable about Lexus cars. I also talked with the delivery technician type guy. Neither can figure out who to change that start up setting. Since it is based on the IS I'm gonna guess I'm not the first one to ask about this. Going with it can't be done but a girl can hope lol. If anyone trips on it let me know!

When I first got my car, the default was to the navigation screen rather than the home screen. I had to stop by the dealer to complete paperwork, and the tech specialist changed the settings. The home screen now shows when I start up. It was a few weeks ago & I don't remember how he did it, but it can be done.

Awesome! If you are back at the dealer anytime soon I would appreciate it you would ask that technician what magic he has to change that

Its called "Auto screen change" in your general settings... you must turn it to "off"... I keep my screen on the radio all the time and when i start up it stays right where i left it....I work for Lexus so any other questions yall have i may be able to answer !
