Park Assist Question

Hello All,

I have a question regarding the Park Assist. When I'm in traffic (stop sign, traffic light, etc.) and I have other vehicles around me, the Park Assist starts beeping and I get a message that Park Assist is no longer available and to clean the sensors (they're clean) on the Nav screen. After I start driving again, I turn the Park Assist button off and then back on and it's fine for a while until I run into the same situation again. Anyone know what the issue is here?

Thanks for your time and feedback?

I'm thinking that it might be some software issue or something, maybe a reset of the system might help clear faults?

The park assist sensors go off when you are within 24" of something, but I think they can also be adjusted distance wise via the Setup from the NAV screen. When you stop in traffic how close are you to the vehicle in front of you because mine have not gone off?

When I stop I'm a few feet behind the car in front of me. Try that and see if it helps.

Thanks for the reply! Yes, I try to keep my distance too but this is more so when I'm in multiple lanes of traffic and also have cars next to me (sometimes both sides). I've also done some reading in the Owner's Manual and it states that bright sunshine and many other factors can set it off too. I'm hoping that I don't have to start turning it off and back on when I want to use it. I might try adjusting the distance setting too.

Thanks again!
WOW, bright sunshine sets it off. Then where I live those sensors should be going off all the time. LOL

Let me know what sensor setting you have yours set to and I'll check mine and tell you what I have mine set to and see if that helps.

I have mine set at the "green lines" (if I'm understanding this correctly). Thanks for your time and help!

Any feedback for me yet? Thanks!

Sorry I didn't drive my car yesterday. I have mine set for the green lines also.

Thanks! I'm going to change the settings and see what happens.

Let us know what you find. After reading in the owner's manual all the weird things that could set them off or not it's amazing they even work. LOL

I know... right! LOL!

A little better but it's still doing it. I've noticed this... they've recently painted the crosswalk markings in my area. When I approach the newly painted, bright white lines at a light combined with the bright sunshine lately, my Park Assist goes off and states it's unavailable until I push the button and reset it. Of course this is when coming to a stop. If I'm traveling a normal speed and cross them it doesn't go off. This option is nice (like when I'm pulling into my garage) but it's becoming a major pita.
After 5,000 miles, I have not had any problems with the parking warnings or the cross traffic alerts or the blind spot monitoring. They seem to work for me, rain or shine.

It might be time to take it to the dealer to have a look at it. I've had my car since mid-December, have 4500 miles on it and it has not acted up. I live where it is always extremely bright out and nothing. It might be a programming issue that only they, the dealer, has access to.

It might help to find out the manufacture date since that could indicate which batch might have this problem and which might not. Good way for member of a certain batch to know
