My first new car

Just picked this up a couple of weeks ago and I love it. I have always driven older cars to save money, but decided I had finally earned a new one. I got the metallic blue Fsport, with a bunch of other options as well. Anyone know if I can turbocharge this thing to get a bit more horsepower?

Welcome to the forum.
Congrats on getting the RC.

What older cars have you driven? Any a Lexus?

CONGRATS ON YOUR PURCHASE!!!!

yeah you can always turbo or supercharged but that will void ur warranty...
What older cars?

Ive had older Buick's, BMWs, Pontiac, Chrysler. Nothing comes close to the ride this new Lexus provides and Im a bit of a gadget freak so all the tech features are awesome! This forum has been a great resource on the tech side as well feels like I learn something new about the car every day.

Congrats!

I would wait till your warranty expired to do any power modifications. Just try an exhaust for now

Love the metallic blue :)
Welcome to the RC club, and you'll have a blast in the new ride.

Along with turbo or supercharged you'll need a special tune and no one yet for either option, and yes you'll void your warranty.

You could put on a CAI. I got mine from aFE Power and it was a Takeda. The have two model types one with chrome pipe TR-2015-1D or one with Black crinkle pipe TR-2015B-1R. Prices vary depending on who you get it from.
hey welcome to the boards and a big congrats. one of the easiest things to explore is ECU tuning. These things have a realy conservative tune in terms of timing and AFM to keep them emission compliant. A pro tweaking those will make it feel like a totally different car...
Congrats on the purchase. Great car to have as your first brand new one.

Glad you are enjoying the forum and I look forward to seeing you around the other threads.

Not bad, at least you come from an automotive background that creates a good foundation for judging the RC and in that really appreciating it and even finding flaws and ways it can be improved.
How do you go about learning new things? Our forum? Just fiddling yourself?
Learning new things

So far forum, manual, tinkering with every button and knob I can find (which are numerous). Certainly looking to learn more about what is possible with these cars. Thanks
Congrats! I've already checked with my Lexus dealer about the turbo. It will definitely void your factory warranty. Their advice... wait until the warranty expires or buy the F.

Turbo

Thanks for the reply from the dealership, I almost bought the F, but to be honest I have enough trouble keeping the rc 350 under 85 on the highway or 50 on surface streets. I just wanted to see if I could get 50 HP more without going full bore with a 500 HP engine (I can afford the car not the tickets), just enough to bring that 0-60 time down into the low-mid 5 second range.

Looking to keep up with 435i owners maybe? :D
