It'll be good to see how the new Q60 will compare to the RC350.

well we still know so little about the RC its tough to make as solid comparison, but heres what I've got so far...

Engines

Infiniti Q60: 3.7L DOHC V6
Lexus RC350: 3.5L DOHC V6

Power

Infiniti Q60: 330 hp @ 7000 RPM, 270 ft-lbs @ 5200 RPM
Lexus RC350: 306 hp @ 6400 RPM, 277 ft-lbs @ 4800 RPM

Gearboxes

Infiniti Q60: 7 speed automatic, 6MT (Q60S)
Lexus RC350: 8 speed automatic

The RC seems like it's a pig due to it's size.

I didn't expect the Q60 to out power the RC350. I guess you have to consider that you can always go with the RC Sport or the RC and those will be more powerful.

That 6MT is where it gets points for being a car that enthusiasts love, but it's likely the next gen model could not get a manual at all, like many new cars that once had a manual in their previous generations

yep the 6MT in the Q60 wins alot of folks over

And will continue to over the RC

yea well before we go spouting our loads about thr Q60 having a 6MT, do consider that Infiniti only offers the 6MT on the Q60S which is a $5K premium over base, that foolish IMO.

I havent seen weight floating around for the RC, but I do know the Q60 is a big of a pig.

3,633 lbs for Q60 Journey, 3,834 lbs for Q60 AWD and 3,708 lbs for Q60S with the MT. Which is odd considering the Q50 3.7L Base tips it at 3,574 lbs, with the Q50 AWD weighing in at 3,849 lbs. Even the G37 Sedan tips it at a svelte 3,628 lbs. I've just never heard of a sedan weighing LESS than its coupe counterpart...

yea but IPL is another $11K over base. IPL is more of an FC-F rival and not a very good one at that either.

Not sure who will agree with me but the cureent Q60 coupe ipl or not looks dated. The RC-F has nicer curves. I really like the chrome trimming around the window frame. The onlything that is not sticking to me is the rear vent on the bumper with the fins. Do they actually serve a purpose?

It's an outgoing model that's in it's last year of production so it's expected it will look like that.

I had an Infinti and it's a great car. Service was phenomenal. I would be looking at a Q60 if it were not for the RC350. I think Lexus makes the better car all around.
