Hi, RC350 Forum Members. How are you? This is my 2nd test drive in the RC F and I was fortunate enough to drive exactly what I wanted with every single option that I wished for. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed on how I was treated at Keyes Lexus in Van Nuys, CA.

Please let me start with the bad and then the great details afterwards. My salesman was a very, very nice, professional, and straight forward person. The sales manager was arrogant, a prick, so full of himself, and shady. I wasn't even offered a simple bottle of water and it's crazy hot in Los Angeles. The Van Nuys location was way better than my previous one at Cerritos, CA. Keyes has a much bigger lot, more selection of vehicles, and beautiful area. The lot where they store their vehicles is a few blocks away is down right pathetic, cheap, ghetto, unmanned, and NOT what I expected with vehicles that cost over $80000.00+

If I were to show my customers how I park and storage my Lexus vehicles, I would be horribly embarrassed. If they were rentals, cheaper second hand vehicles or go carts, yes. Isn't this supposed to be a Luxurious Company? Longo Lexus in El Monte, CA has all of their new vehicles parked underground out of the public view and away from that burning sun that kills your valuable precious paint.

No, I don't work for any other dealership or car manufacturer and I am just a regular person trying to buy my Dream Car. Unfortunately, I have been very, very unhappy with Lexus Dealerships from Cerritos and Keyes. Uh.. I have had better treatment by Toyota, Hyundai, BMW, and Acura within the last few months.

Ok, enough bashing of these dealerships and I am terribly sorry for saying these bad things but I had to get it off of my back. I am here to review my 2015 Lexus RC F Ultrasonic Blue Mica. The options available on my baby had the Premium and Performance Packages, Carbon Fiber Roof and Rear Spoiler with TVD, Black Leather Interior, 19" Hand Polished 20 Spoke Alloy Rims upgrade, Mark Levinson and Navigation upgrade.

The salesman really trusted me on maneuvering the parked RC F from the dinky lot to the main lot and I drove it alone for 2 minutes. I really did appreciate that without having to ask for my driver's license or some form of ID or tagging along with me. Once we both arrived at the main lot, off we went. The salesman did ask if I wanted to "Open Her Up" on a long or short course? Hehe.. I kindly declined the long run and said the short run would be fine. I only went on local streets and the whole ride was on Sport+ Mode and I hit 50mph. It was absolutely f***ing amazing and extremely mesmerizing. Yes, I did have an Orgasm but non sexually. Hehe.. Now, I totally felt and saw the difference from my previous test drive on Eco Mode. The feel, steering, controls, power and balance is a huge difference. I don't ever think that my Baby will ever see Eco Mode switched on. Hehe..

The TVD was on Normal Mode and I didn't get a chance to play with that or anything else besides bumping up my music to EDM on CD. I did not really want Leather as an option but now I do and it is freaking awesome and super comfortable.

Unfortunately, the final price out the door was not very good but I was offered a $1000 because the sales manager could not offer the Military Discount from Lexus. Not his fault but shame on Lexus. Uh.. The only thing that I appreciated from the sales manager but he is still never, ever getting a penny from me with that poor attitude and work ethics. If I were in sales and someone wants to buy an $80000.00+ vehicle, I would do everything in my power to be as helpful, sincere and Professional to try to at least get a good relationship. Word of mouth spreads fast and with today's reviews online, you are being watched and read about. But hey, it's his loss, not mine. Their are 15+ Lexus Dealerships in the Southern California area but I guess I was a nobody with his expectations of a rich person.

I do understand that a person doesn't make the whole company look bad but it does in a slightly different matter. Just because you order food in a restaurant and it came out disgusting. The waiter or waitress brought it to you only and gets blamed for it. It's actually the Cooks fault, the majority of the time. So, sales people deal with tons of phone calls emails, texts, and in person visits all day, every day. They look at customers as easy prey, dumb founded or clueless.

The majority of us really do our homework and I know about the big and small details of what I am going to invest in. Especially if I am going to spend $80000.00+. Why treat us as if I was born yesterday? Really? Of course, some customers act like idiots and arrogant but you still treat them as you want to be treated, right? Please don't get me wrong because I was never once swearing, acting a fool, cocky, loud and obnoxious or rude. I just played along with their game and didn't get suckered into the game plan of eating too big of a commission. Word of advice, just do your research and homework well. Plan everything out and do not get pressured into any schemes that you feel uncomfortable with. Just walk away and say, i am going to shop around for another deal. You have the power, money and time, not the sales people. Please have a great rest of the week and I am sure you have your bad stories or experiences with Lexus or other car companies, right?

Hi Akiho-Yoshizawa,

Great to hear you had a great test drive, but sorry to hear of the treatment by the Sales Manager. Where I bought mine it was the finance manager that was difficult to deal with, but everyone else was great. The car color is great.

Have you thought about going though AAA car buying service to get your car? When I was looking for mine I went to AAA, and unfortunately they could get anything off as the car was so new. My sales consultant told me that if I waited about 4-5 months he could have gotten the same car with the same options for about 5K less. The best part is you only deal with AAA and not the dealer sales people or their PITA finance department, etc. No pressure at all, and the AAA Sales Consultant will find the car you want, have it delivered to their location, and you go to AAA to test drive and buy the car if you want it. Just a thought. I bought 3 cars through AAA, 2 new and 1 used, and it was painless and a breeze.
Great review and that last bit of information you provided is the big take away, too many folks are quick to jump into a purchase like this but patience pays off big time.

And there couldn't be a better time than now to exercise all of what you said as information to support it is that much more available now! on this forum!

Hi GearHeadPeter,

Good afternoon and how are you? Thank you very much for your kind words and being thoughtful on my situation. Yes, we have all kinds of people in this society. Unfortunately, we do have some f***ing, idiots and knuckleheads in this world but the good people overcome their dumb asses. But hey, like I mentioned before, it's his loss, not mine. The dealership, sales rep, his team and the little guys could had made a great commission of of this sale.

Yes, I heard of AAA being very helpful and reliable with sales. Luckiky, I do have a close friend who is a Car Broker and is dealing directly with the Purchase Director. I just wanted to test the waters to see what it feels like to be a car shopper. Plus, I would compare prices to see what I am actually saving from my friend. Glad to hear of your good experience with AAA, and sorry to hear about your ordeal with the idiotic finance manager at your dealership. More details in the next few days about the test drive and Keyes Lexus. Off to a meeting with the whole Composites Department and Management. Yeah.. hehe.. :)

Hopefully, you had a great weekend and I will respond to your other post tomorrow, ok? Once again, thank you for your support and advice, GearHeadPeter.

Hi DCRH,

Good afternoon and how are you? Thank you for your time on reading on reviews and it's always a pleasure to hear from you, buddy. Yes, it was a bad moment but life goes on and his loss, not mine. Hehe.. oh well. .

WOW.. I am really shocked that you got this type of feedback from Keyes.
They Provided me with great customer service!!! I even wrote a review about their great costumer service on google.

They always try to play their games on you... They offered me to pay $680 per month on a lease... 10k miles, $3,000 out of pocket, and a trade in of $3,000.00 for my 07 Camry... seriously... that would be 6K down and still $680 per month...

At the end of the day I got what i wanted and I was very happy.

You know what you want and what you are willing to pay. Don't play their games next time. Just go in there and ask for what you want!!!
Hi Akiho-Yoshizawa,

My Dad was a used car salesman, yea I know :crying:, but I did learn a lot from him on how dealers operate. Some are better than others, and like you said some are fracking idiots.

If you going to buy it is better to have your own financing, which is what I did, and it ticked off the Finance department. Have you tried PenFed Credit Union as it is open to Veterans[/B,] and you get a killer interest rate? I got 2.49%, and it is a bit lower now for a 60 month note. They might even do leasing. Going through the dealer for credit is not the best move as they get kickbacks for using in-house financing. Good for them, not for you as you don't get the best deal. Even if leasing you are still paying a rate. Having you financing before hand also shows the dealer you are serious.

If you are going to lease you might be stuck dealing with the dealer, and that is where it gets tricky, and you have to have the time to deal with the smiley faces they draw. LOL... One good tactic if negotiations break down is just get up and leave. Tell them if they want to make a deal to call you. They are more likely to make a really good deal if you are buying then leasing. I do understand the need to lease when you are wanting a $40K-$70K vehicle to get smaller payments, and not everyone keeps their vehicle for a long time anymore.

Let me know if I can be of any other help. :D

Hi thepro78,

How are you, buddy? Yes, I do know that you got your RC350 at Keyes and glad to hear you had better treatment than I did. Everything was just awesome except for that di**head sales manager. The receptionists at the front main door were pleasant, great spirits and super friendly. I don't blame all of Lexus for one idiot to ruin it for me nor his whole race. I only blame him alone.

Yes, those numbers sound kind of off until you do your own math with your financial information. He asked if I were to trade in and only gave me $6000 when Longo offered me $7000. I laughed and said I am only trading in for no less than $8500. That is what I can get on a private sale but magically, he matched my price but started playing mind games with numbers. I just played along until it was time to walk away from his BS.

Also, it's not like I just walked in there out if the blue. I have been in contact with the salesman for two months about what I want. My Ultrasonic Blue Mica was full of dust and parked in the dinky lot a few blocks away. I did make an appointment at 3pm, and arrived at 230pm. The only time, my sales guy failed but we all make mistakes, right? Anyways, I just wanted to test the waters and my intention was serious but they would not have gotten the sale even if I had 100% perfect customer service. I still need to shop around for the best deal out there. Planning and preparation is everything. A few hundred or thousand here and there goes a long way.

It wasn't that bad but still disappointed on Lexus training people. Of course, we have bad apples everywhere and you just have to weed them out of your circle. I got what I wanted with that awesome test drive, price quote and pics to prove my negotiations with my broker friend or other dealerships. Thank you very much for your concerns, feedback and support, thepro78. It's always a pleasure hearing and reading your posts and comments. Hehe.. ;-)

Hi GearHeadPeter,

Thanks again for your help and advice on the financial services. I actually have a credit union in Pasadena who offered around 1.89% for 7 years, 8th months. I also am in talks with State Farm who also have a car financing program and I have been with them for 16+ years as a Perfect Customer. No accidents, no tickets, no infractions and they gave me a full coverage insurance rate of $145-$150 a month with a $500 deductible.

Playing into their game plan did not work out for them. I pulled a great tactical move on them and they won nothing. At least, try to get respect but the sales manager made him a fool. Anyways.. lessons to all of our RC350 Members, just do your research, homework and walk away if it sounds too good to be true or you have a bad gut feeling. I know we all have our Pride, Ego and Self Esteem but walking away is sometimes the Best Solution. Now I know how it feels to get suckered into something when you don't want something. The words they use sound so sweet, sincere and magical but smooth talking is all it is. Get the numbers on paper and calculate your own math and you will see if it matches or not.

Hi Akiho-Yoshizawa,

That's a great rate. Even PenFed could not do that great on the rate and especially for that length of term. The insurance also sounds about right also so that is a good deal. Now all you have to do is get a good dealer that won't act like a 2 year old and you'll be all set. Once the 2016's start coming out you'll get a better deal, but might not have the selection you want. It's a waiting game for sure.
akiho,

you dealership experience is about right ....i faced the same in 2 dealers in the miami or south fla. area .the dealers have turned me off .............and made me remember how bmw and mb dealers used to act years ago...they are much better now that audi is eating theiir lunch.

before you buy the rcf i suggest that you test drive it for a couple of days ........you can reda my review of the rc 350 f sport on a 1,500 mile trip in here .........i wish i had not gone for it ...............

bottom line ,both ,the f and the f sport are just too heavy for real back road handling ..........initially i was going to go for the rcf until i read the specs ,,,,,,,,,and went to the f sport....
I'm very surprised by this! My Lexus dealer (Metro Lexus, Cleveland, Ohio) treated me and my fiancé like royalty! Even before they knew we were buyers! Sad...

Hi ffb13,

Good afternoon and how are you? I'm terribly sorry to hear what you went through as well. Of course, I don't blame one single individual to rule out or ruin my experience with Lexus. Like I mentioned before, there is always one rotten apple in every batch here and there. In school, work, Family member and friends, there is always a quiet one, nerdy one, jock athlete, beautiful one, rich spoiled one, loud one, and unfortunately, the Cocky, Ugly, mr. Hot Shot Dumbass one. Hehe..

It's not a big deal because he made himself look like an A** and had potential for a huge sale. It's not like I was messing around with nothing to do. I did plan this week's in advance with my sales guy and everything I wanted, showed up early and offered $25000 cash down. Who realistically walks in a dealership saying that? I am not trying to brag or show off but I have been saving for 6+ months and ready to buy my dream car. Anyways..

Yes, I did read your post but didn't get a chance to comment on it yet. I am quite busy with my 12+ hour work shift and dealing with my little posts keep my tied up. Hehe.. Yes, this is my second test drive and regardless of what anyone or any reporter says about the RC F, it's my Dream Car. Besides the Lamborghini Aventador, but that is something I could never, ever afford.

From the experience of some Family relatives, friends and colleagues. The Lexus RCF is what I am looking for in luxury, looks, power, uniqueness, speed, and so on. Yes, I know it weighs almost 4000 pounds but I am not going to race it on the streets or track but my everyday cruiser to work and play. Hehe..

Where did you end up getting your RC350, F Sport? Another dealership than the two that gave you problems? The Internet has so many choices to choose from and dealerships should be careful on how they treat their potential customers. Hey, it's their loss, not ours, right?

On a final note, what are you planning to do with your RC350? Trade in for something else? Thanks for sharing your thoughts, help and support, ffb13. Hopefully, you can find a solution for your unhappiness with your RC350.

Hi mrjangle,

Good afternoon and how are you? I am glad you received great treatment from your Ohio dealership. It's not a big deal because the sales manager is the dumba** who lost the sale for his whole team. I guess he has enough money to blow. Did you end up with a great deal?

Yes, we got a great deal. $1500 discount on the car and exactly what we wanted for our trades (2 cars).

Any plans to use that on accessories/modifications or just going to pocket it?

We're going to pocket it for now. I LOVE this car just the way it is! There's not much I'd do to it really. Would love to turbo it when the warranty expires but we'll see. It stickered for just over $54k and we only financed $41k. Best deal of my life and I've gotten a few good deals in the past.
Nice post and thank for sharing this content. very beneficial for all users.
I understand that these test drives are always quite chaotic.
