Lexus RC-F Engine has been proven at the track, glad to hear this as I was getting concerned about not seeing any video's of it being testing at the Nurburgring.

The Lexus IS F CCS-R was more than just a race car, the Japanese automaker used it to help develop its new RC F coupe.

It has now been revealed that the IS F CCS-R competed in last year’s Pikes Peak International Hill Climb and the 25 Hours of Thunderhill with the 5.0-liter V8 engine that will be powering the RC F coupe. The powerplant was an early development unit and was used in the IS F CCS-R race car.

The Japanese automaker actually has several IS F CCS-Rs, some in Japan, a trio in Germany and the one in the U.S. According to RC F Chief Engineer Yukihiko Yaguchi, the CCS-R did partake in the development of the RC F coupe, though he declined to get into specifics. But considering the CCS-R exclusively competed in endurance races in the U.S., it was essentially an undercover development vehicle for the RC F coupe.

We dont know much at this point

All of the rumors prior mentioned a turbo V6 instead of the V8 but of course Lexus reused the V8 (at least that is the assumption based off their history)

It could be updated with some different parts and tuning her and there.. But I have high confidence its practically the same V8

I doubt they rebuilt the V8 from the ground up to something completely different for the RC-F. Doesn't seem very Lexus.
