Just thinking about the shared nature of the Supra/RC-F, I figure should the Supra show up with a MT (should who are we kidding, IT WILL) then the gearbox should theoretically be transferable to the RC-F. The two are already sharing a platform, engine looks like it will be shared as well. Whats a few components between kin?

Seems like it would be an easy switch over, but I think that companies are trying to ween people off of manual gear boxes even in performance vehicles. At first people might get upset, but after a few years they will adjust to the new norm.

DCT's are manual as well, we're not going torque converter everything, nor the doomsday of CVT crying

I think there's a slim chance the RC-F will get a manual, i have a feeling they will try to push for a DCT more than anything, it will help them a lot when it comes to numbers and looking good on paper, which in turn helps with sales.

LEXUS doesn't have to if TOYOTA does. If the component is already in place and it fits with what the segment wants I don't see how that can be ignored. For perspective you can't even get an M car with an Auto box. Its either three pedal rowing or DCT...

because there was no incentive. there was no need to develop a new manual, especially if it was for one model. Now that there is more scale potential, why not?

also it seemed like the ISF was almost like their way to test the waters and to me it seems like it went well, everyone was pleasantly surprised when they found out lexus brought out a high performance Lexus IS

I guess if enough poeple asked for it in the ISF now is Lexus' time to give them an answer.
