So a buddy and I are pretty nifty with a tig welder so we will be building a custom axel back and intake for my RC350. I will start with a parts list and pricing because all the supplies are still on their way.

10 feet of 3" 304 18g polished stainless steel piping - $124.99
AMG style 3.5" quad tips - $89.99
4 feet of 3" 6061-T grade aluminum piping - $33.99
3" air filter - $14.99
Aluminum weld on maf adapter - $23.99
Misc. couplers & clamps - $19.99
Total: $307.94

Will update with pictures once everything comes in and I get cracking on the setup!

Pricing is very reasonable. I'll be very interested to see what you do. Looking forward to pictures. What kind of performance changes are you expecting?

I'm eager to hear a sound clip... I saw a guy that did the same thing with 2.5" Pipe and custom X pipe and the rasp was just ridiculous... He ended up reverting it within the week.

I am not touching the resonators/cats just yet so I don't really expect any performance changes but maybe 5-10 crank from the intake hopefully. Doubt it though haha. Just looking for some more noise. Will absolutely be posting videos when its done!

^yea but rasp and drone can make any car downright unliveable in less than 2 highway exits.

Would be interested in process pictures as well. Everyone loves behind the scenes stuff, the goodies that go into building something great :D;)

Any updates of the progress?

A 3" is going to sound insane! Friend of mine has a custom 2.75" ID catback and its absolute insanity. One thing I didnt like about it was the amount of drone in low rpms and high gear. So be prepared for that.

Yeah that's one of the downsides, just have to find that middle ground where you can have it as deep and rich of a tone as it can be but none of that drone and raspiness.

So I'm still waiting on parts unfortunately. Hopefully things start to arrive this week. If not, next. I have my 21st birthday weekend coming up so I doubt I'll get anything done until after that haha. Hopefully drone won't be too bad but we will see. I did a full catback 2.5" straight pipe on my LS430 and it was INSANE but drone really wasn't bad because of how sound deadening our cars are. I will keep you guys updated!

Yeah it's not for everyone.

I honestly wouldn't mind shelling out the extra since details like that matter to me, but it's not an absolute must. I am however patient enough to wait to have all the parts to make a setup "complete"
