So the new Lexus IS just recieved a 5 star recommendation from Euro NCAP. It was actually rated as the safest new car in the Large Family segment.

Full marks in the side barrier test for adults, 18 month and 3 year old infants.

The question, should we expect similar results for the RC350?

GOod question, that's the ultimate passenger car test and if they can pass that it will help them gain more "points" selling it. Hopefully it does well.

did you watch the video? Small overlap is the second test shown. And the NCAP doesnt award a 5 star rating without substantial performance in the small overlap test. I wouldn't be worried about RC passing NHTSA tests...

The one things that scares me about this crash test is the back window shattering. It seems like it would be desirable to have that not happen. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I think it's safe to make that assumption but of course they will have different proportions and have many differences. If anything it shouldn't fall too far off from this rating

i think the test they have shown is the moderate overlap

i dont think euroncap does small overlap
that is a nhtsa thing

if it survives small overlap it will for sure survive moderate
