So the new Lexus IS just recieved a 5 star recommendation from Euro NCAP. It was actually rated as the safest new car in the Large Family segment.


Full marks in the side barrier test for adults, 18 month and 3 year old infants.

The question, should we expect similar results for the RC350?

did you watch the video? Small overlap is the second test shown. And the NCAP doesnt award a 5 star rating without substantial performance in the small overlap test. I wouldn't be worried about RC passing NHTSA tests...

Should we expect the RC to have similar results to the IS in crash testing? Are the cars similar enough to make that assumption?

The one things that scares me about this crash test is the back window shattering. It seems like it would be desirable to have that not happen. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I think it's safe to make that assumption but of course they will have different proportions and have many differences. If anything it shouldn't fall too far off from this rating
