Interview with Lexus Chief Designer Yasuo Kajino turned up in Lexus' Beyond magazine this month.

“By ‘sexy,’” explains Yasuo Kajino, chief designer at the Lexus Design Division, “we mean beautiful packaging, a visually dynamic structure and a low and wide body shape, all of which comes with Lexus’s state-of-the-art technology.”
So is the Lexus sexy compared to what will be competing for your dollars?

I still think that the new 4-series is beautiful. Lexus is just a different type of beauty. I may have my favorite, but i don't discriminate against other beautiful cars.

Lexus says that the wide body shape is part of the sexiness anyway, so I don't see how the 4-series being large can be that bad of a thing since Lexus is doing the same thing in a way.

Really? I'm not a big fan of the new 4, it looks so large and bloated now. Almost the size of the 6 series 5 years ago...
Same here. But then agin so is everthing else. Looking at all the others 5 years back they have become quite... swollen. However I do like the bolder lines from the lexus line. Just look at the Is300 nearly a decade ago. You can see the chnage in size.

no one is discriminating. If the 4 series is your idea of beautiful congratulations just doesn't fly in my books. And before I'm accused of being anti equal I came from BMW, 335i coupe.

Compare the e92 3 coupe to the f32 4 coupe and you can see the bloat in action. I was not talking about the RC's size so I fail to see the connection between my opinion of the 4 series and my opinion of the RC...

But here are the facts regardless...

Length

4 Series: 183.89 inches
RC: 185.2 inches

Width

4: 73.89 inches
RC: 72.8 inches

Height

4: 56.06 inches
RC: 54.7 inches

Wheelbase

4: 110.70 inches
RC: 107.5 inches

Non argument.
