I'm settling into a new RC350F, and have noticed the headlights do not always automatically turn off after the configured 15 seconds but instead can take 10-15 minutes to finally turn off. Has anyone else noticed this? Should I just take the car into the dealer or is there an easy fix or a some setting that I'm missing.

Thanks!

That sure does seem to be an issue to me, don't see any reason for it to take that long. If I were you I'd go to the dealer and see what they have to say about it. It's even more of a concern when you consider how much power it's pulling from the battery.

Yeah, 10 to 15 mins is way too long. It should be a quick fix though. I would just take it to the nearest dealer and let them know the situation. Maybe the configuration is malfunctioning and needs to be re-set..

Cheers

Ok, stupid question, but I have to ask it. Are you leaving the headlight switch in the manual ON position and not Auto? The headlights are set to turn off after 15 minutes if you left the switch in the manual ON position as a battery saving measure.

Hi Peter, I always assume operator error first too, but in this case, I leave the headlight selection set to AUTO at all times.
I figured you did, but had to ask.

Then I would definitely call the dealer and make an appointment as that is not right. Even when I shut off the vehicle the headlights will only stay on for the time I indicated in the setup, and there is no 15 minute option.

Just for giggles try changing the Headlamps Auto-Off timer to turn off the headlights when the driver door is opened to see if that is even working.

Vehicle Customization, Light Settings.

Good Luck.

Peter
