Hi all. I have an ultra white RC 350 FS and I am really considering changing the chrome window trim to black because it looks more sporty especially on a coupe. I don't want to wrap it because the chrome is actually two pieces that butt up against each other above the windows and not a single piece so it wouldn't look right by wrapping because the separation which show underneath.

Has anyone here painted or dipped their windows trims? What did you choose and what were your results? The plasti dip is probably the best bet in terms of reversibility, but the flat sheen has a tendency to look blah. There's a plasti dip Glossifier that can be applied as a top coat that would give it a nice shine and feed resistance that I'd probably use for a nicer look. The other option would be permanently spray paint as a satin black, which would look most professional but permanent.

I was in the same boat. The Chrome got to me at first, but now I actually don't mind it. I was hoping someone would come out with an aftermarket black grill.

If no higher end brands come out with something I think lower end aftermarket brands like Extreme Dimensions might step up to the plate.

Hopefully someone does something custom tho, I see the potential for that.

I would support possibly blacking out just the border or just the logo. But leaving one I think would be good to maintain a point of contrast.

I'm bringing this back to life because I'm possibly going to attempt this in the coming month. I don't feel like paying the $200-350 ive been quoted locally to wrap those small chrome areas (window trim). I keep trying to tell these people its just the top part, not the entire molding and yet I still get high rates so plastidi seems more promising. Just have to take my time with masking.

I just purchased 2 cans of Hyper Dip (Piano Black) so whenever it comes in, I'm going to and finally get these moldings painted. I CANNOT stand chrome. I think the F-Sport trim should have come with chrome delete, like the way Audi treat their "black optics" package.
