just got back from a one week trip to maine ,and vermont and back to conn. got around 25.7 on way up ,all interstate .
on way back 90% back roads to vt.and from vt to conn the same .but got 29.5 mpg . (going downhill i guess ).
my previous opinions on the car have not changed .
essentially this is a not a so much fun to drive car, but handles nicely at 7 ths.and good in back roads ,great around curves mostly due to the rear wheel steering .
as long as you do not push it beyond 8 /10 ths . it is fine.
i have other cars and all are fun to drive but in truth , i got this car because it was the only modern comfortable ,reliable sports that offered a spare tire (donut )...and not as claustrophobic as the jag e type nor the vette z06. and more reliable than the 911 that also does not have a spare . ( so far have had two nail punctures and all on the rear pass.side tire ) i can imagine on a sunday with a run flat ...i would still be at a motel .
but when i compare it to my vw gti, the gti is more fun to drive all around ...not as good handling as the rc but also half the price and for usa roads is fine or excellent . to me , the gti is one of the geatest all around cars made .
and also great on my long 1,400 miles trips .
so , i am not bashjing the lexus ,the dealers yes ...not the car ,a nice car ..but you can do better for less monies .
will probably get rid of it as soon as the new ls comes out .
