Seeing how it was used in the IS-F it makes sense that they use it in the RC-F, Toyota/Lexus usually builds their stuff strong so likely it can take what ever the RC-F engine will throw at it.

Durable yes, but not exactly a technological marvel. If you click through the link in the OP its compared to the ZF 8 speed and the AISIN falls short in several key areas...

You'd think that with their Lexus vehicles they would go with the best that their company has access to though. I guess it just has to do the job good enough for the car its in, but I don't like to hear about any corners being cut.

Best with what the budget is and the type of vehicle it is of course. It depends on what the vehicle is, price, what it actually needs, etc.

I just hope the transmission in the RC-F proves to be good enough for it and not something frowned upon

woah, theres no corners being cut. This is the top gearbox that AISIN has to offer, the only reason the ZF is more advanced is because the AISIN was deved and built for production before ZF even began development on theirs...
