i travel much therefore have not put many miles on the car ....my opinion after 4 months ...

1) this is a very soft cruiser type or call it a gt that can be pleasant for those who have never driven a 911 or vette..

2) it lacks that great feeling of a 911 or vette and not even close to a lotus .

3)mine is the rear wheel drive, with all options . great for my trips from florida to connecticut and vermont 4 x per year .....i hope ...i have not done it yet but will in june ,the first trip----------------

and the real reason i got it over the 911 or the vette or even the jag F type is due to tthe fact that only the lexus has regular tires and a spare ..which i need when i drive long trips in the mountains ,etc...also, the less claustrophobic of all the above .

BUT..................(and too late now )

4)in december i came down to florida in my vw gti...first ever long trip on this car ..bottom line ---had i driven the gti on such a long trip before i would have never bought the lexus rc 35 f sport....my gti is that good ...on the negative side ,poor sound system and somewhat noisy on some pavement ..but great mpg and great power and handling. as a handler it is just great but the rc will out do it in tight hi speed curves ,but last time i did this on my porshe i hit the wall as the rear end came around .therefore more careful now and the gti forces me to be careful.

5)--the rear wheel drive / steering on the rc is incredible and you can tell right away as you go around a corner,a tight curve or one of those round abouts in the middle of a road. itis a grat feeling once you get used to it ...initially it can be disconcerting . almost as good as the one on GT3 .

summary ,after 4 months ----and no long trips yet ------i prefer the gti for pure driving fun.............then the vette and then the 911 .above them all ,the lotus evora .........but crazy to get a lotus ( who is going to service it ) .and then comes in the new alfa romeo---but made by the same people that make the FIAT ( or Fix It Again Tony ) crazy .

the rc f sport , a nice soft cruiser that can handle curves competently and in my opinion a great interiro and better and less claustrophobic than al the others

Let me see if I get this straight... Lexus Vs All others mentioned.
Lexus Pros
1- "this is a very soft cruiser type or call it a gt"
2-"only the lexus has regular tires and a spare"
3-"mine is the rear wheel drive, with all options . great for my trips"
4-"also, the less claustrophobic of all the above"
5-Better sound system and quieter ride than the GTI
6-"but the rc will out do it in tight hi speed curves"
7-"the rear wheel drive / steering on the rc is incredible and you can tell right away as you go around a corner,a tight curve or one of those round abouts in the middle of a road. itis a grat feeling once you get used to it"

Cons
1)Its not a Porsche... 100K car
2)Its not a Corvette.. 60k+ car
3)It's not a Lotus... 70K+ car
4) not as cheap as the GTI...

I just don't get your post... perhaps I should drive all those cars too and see that the Lexus is cheaper yet roomier, more comfortable, rides smoother than these cars, a lot nicer in all aspects compared to the GTI....and yet you rank it last...

Mustang GT... don't knock it, its a seriously slick ride now.
unfortunately, the Mustang is not a Luxury car...

The cars mentioned above are Luxury Sports

The Stangs do have some serious power now... I remember I used to have the 2004 GT convertible and it was V8 and only had 260HP.... Now the V6 has way more power than the old GT....

yes ,i rank it last because it is not as engaging to drive as the others ...
also, it is a soft car .
all the pluses that you mentioned as my negatives ,would be pluses or minuses vis a vis different type of drivers .
if you want gt ,soft and comfortable the the rc is the way to go
if you want a car that is fun to drive and makes you have fun then it is not

to answr sykes

the bmw ,mb are no longer the cars that they used to be ,neither is the new infinity . i have an fx35 2003 ,and love that thing.it is fun to drive and handles great ..poor fuel economy so range is limited ..it is actually based on the g35 g37 and handles like such .

also the reliability of mb ,bmw and audi is poor ...just ask any owner .

the infinity reliability is good .....almost up there with lexus .

the mercedes c class is built to a price point .....the pinnacle of mb were the 85 thru 95 or so cars specially the e type by porsche .mb is now a big lemon ....ask anyone who owns one more than 3 years and find out the continous failures of the air suspension and the various components..and costs ....just this morning the limo that took me to the airport is a mb s class 550 ....the owners will get rid of it as soon as they can. they cannot operate it at a profit once the warranty is over .

the new mustang ...specially the v8 ...i think superior to the bmw 3 series and even 4 series ..........

This is true enough that I almost always see a lot of owners talking about whether they should get rid of it before the warranty is up or not. Meanwhile with Lexus, you don't notice nearly as many discussions going on about the same topic. Lexus, for the win.
