4 wheel steering

i had the car up to repair a tire and got under it .the 4 wheel steering consist of a hydarulic cylinder located aft of the rear axle and mounted on a special plate and has arms going to each rear tire .
how it gets the information for its activation ,i have no idea.but it works great.

now the stupid design on this car is the placement of the pad next to the drink holders ...very stupid design

That's something i have noticed as well with the cup holders, which amazes me at how they can mess up the design of something so simple.

Always a chance of it being something that could possible be changed in a future year model, hopefully Lexus is listening.
Isn't it an electronic signal that controls the steering instead of something mechanical?
possibly it is an electrical command . but the hydrauluc cylinder is what makes things happen
