If this article by Autocar carries any weight then we should be in for a 4 door RC F...or a new IS F... Expect it to share platforms with the RC. Also a maybe could be we'll see convertible version of the RC F...

Following the GS F is likely to be a four-door version of the RC F, the IS F, which will feature identical underpinnings to those of the coupé but a slightly lower price tag. Expect to see the IS F "sometime in 2016", according to sources. This may well be followed by a convertible version of the RC F.

So it'll be cheaper than the RC F. Is that solely based on it being a 4-door instead of a coupe, or will there be other differences too in design and performance?

I'm confused. Though I'm sure that people will buy it. Lexus has less overlap than other brands like BMW. Don't understand their model names and structure.

The RC being based on the GS platform, it's probably more correct to say the GS is a 4-door RC.
Are you lost or something? The RC only uses the front clip from the GS, its not based on it. The platform is a hodge podge. Not to mention the segment gap...

There is already the GS 350 F Sport though. Is that not a performance 4 door coupe?
There is no performance difference between the GS350 and the GS350 Fsport... Same engine and same power output...

It's just like people thinking that the RC350 Fsport is faster or better than the RC350....

This is what they're talking about when they say 4 door coupe. 4 series Gran Coupe... yes there is still a 3 series sedan with a more upright roofline...
