Rc300?

Something interesting happened last weekend in California. Two mysterious IS F Sports were spotted at Lexus HQ by LexusEnthusiast.

This could be the rumoured debut of the 2.0t in the IS, eventually it will make its way into the RC as well.

Now consider that with the context that Lexus as recently as late 2014 had filed patents for IS 300 and RC 300. Paradoxically the 300 number seems to be signify an engine downsizing trend. The RC 300 wouldn't replace the RC 350, it would slot in below it. The theory goes that Lexus will use the 300 number to denote the 2.0T.

But you'll also notice that there is a car with white tape and a car with black tape. The current speculation seems to be that one represents a hybrid and the other a regular 350. If true I think we can logically assume that LExus is finally getting around to bringing the RC Hybrid over.

Hybrid RC would be awesome. Smaller engine would also be good though. I think its important for luxury brands to have some more attainable products to bring people into the brand. Seems like Lexus is doing a good job of filling in the gaps in its lineup.

I wonder how much this would decrease price by and which models it would at that point be in line with when it comes to pricing.

Hopefully with a 2.0T this RC300 won't be sluggish.

Good point, looking at their expereience with it will be the best way to gauge what it'll be like while we wait.

I don't think it will be sluggish but then again it is all relative, so it might not be quite as exciting to drive as some cars that it will be compared to.

Canada announced that they'll be having the IS200t and IS300 shortly, RC shouldn't be too far behind
