RC F - Fuel Pump Failure at 2,600 miles

Am a Lexus fanatic, currently own 2 LX570, 1 GX470 and 2 RC - F. Yesterday was driving the 2015 RC - F with 2,600 miles, in a not so pleasant part of Oakland, at a traffic light of a busy intersection the car splutters and stops. Turn the ignition, starter motor turns over but it does not start. Get tow truck and send it back to Pleasanton Lexus.
Call the dealer today - the fuel pump failed, really, a luxtury flag ship and the fuel pump fails below 3,000 miles.
Call Lexus National - is the dealer replacing it under warranty is the question I get back from them. No apologies, no feedback, nothing....So much for customer service.
Guess it is time to change by driving preference. Would stay away from the RC F. Personally am dumping Lexus.
Two youngsters drove by me in a new Mustang and sniggered "nice car" as they drove off while it was being loaded on a flatbed. Maybe I should go with Ford instead.

check the Clublexus forums, it is a known issue on certain build RC-F models. and Lexus has addressed it..

no car manufacturer is perfect, stuff happens.. if this is all you have to worry about count your blessings. I've been through 2 buy backs with GM in the past 5 years...

Ford and GM have some of the worst quality issues and recalls out right now.. but whatever..

well don't know what to tell you..

IMO if it is covered under warranty and a rental is provided and I don't have to fork over anything out of pocket for the repair, then it's all good.

I would hardly call the RC-F a POS after one minor issue that Lexus has identified and addressed.

I didn't call my Camaro a POS after it had to have the convertible top replaced 4 times in 14 months, and GM end up Lemon Lawing the car, the car wasn't a POS, it had a factory defect that the dealer could not correct, and GM refused to address or admit was an issue. The car was very fun to drive and enjoyable to own, GM provided a rental while they tried to fix the issue, and when it was apparent the issues could not be corrected GM stepped up and refunded me 100% of the price of the vehicle including my down payment, all interest, all dealer installed items, etc.

Nothing is made perfect in this world, and if you expect it to be then you will always be miserable.
